    Rachel Williams Psychologist

If you face an issue that you would like a psychologist’s help with, talk to your GP. Your doctor will do an initial assessment to determine the appropriateness of a psychologist referral. If you have private health insurance that covers psychology services or if you are prepared to pay the full fee yourself, then a Medicare referral is not needed.

    Medicare

In order to access a Medicare rebate for sessions you will need a current Mental Health Care Plan and referral that can be obtained through your General Practitioner. With a current Mental Health Care Plan you are eligible to receive a rebate of $96.65 per session, for up to ten psychological sessions per calendar year.

    Private Health Insurance

Rachel is a registered provider with most major private health funds. If you have private health insurance that covers psychology, you may be eligible to receive a rebate. There is a Hicaps machine at the office to allow you to claim on the day. Please note that you are unable to access a Medicare rebate AND a private health rebate for the same session.
